Hello!

As reported in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1536589#c3 - distribution packagers could not use KNI in their default packaging system since the kernel module isn't in upstream (I think it also leads to Secure Boot issues too).

So can DPDK modules be submitted to Upstream Linux Kernel?

Thanks!

It's not a bug:). Some people have tried a lot to upstream KNI module to Linux kernel. You could check with Ferruh from Intel for more details.

I need the rte_kni module but my Fedora Kernel does not support until it's accepted in the kernel. is there any information regarding this process?
